PeerLink Initiative Uganda (PELI-U)’s purpose is To contribute to efforts to revive a reading culture and empower youth and women to succeed socially and economically.
PeerLink Initiative Uganda (PELI-U) contributes to provision of quality education, works to ensure that schools and teachers Integrate ICT in teaching and learning and a reading culture is promoted in households, schools and communities.
PELI-U works to ensure food security, adequate nutrition and promote job readiness and employment opportunities for youth, women and households.
PELI-U focuses on enhancing the capacity of youth and women to cope with the sexual reproductive health (SRH) related challenges and make healthy informed decisions.
We equip youth with employability and job readiness skills to enable them find or create jobs and increase their income. We work with children and students enrolled in primary and secondary schools and out of school youth. We train teachers in Information Communication Technology, subject content review and creation and expose the teachers to participatory learner centered methods of teaching and learning.
We work in Western Uganda in the Districts of Rukungiri, Kampala District Kawempe Division and we are scaling up to Rukiga District and Rubanda District.
