PELI-U trains community based peer educators

It was a fun filled week at PeerLink Initiative Uganda (PELI-U) field office in Nyarushanje Subcounty, Rukungiri District from 22nd to 27th January, 2018. The week kicked off with a training workshop for Community Based Peer Educators 22nd January to 24th January, 2018. 44 Peer Educators from the 9 Parishes of Nyarushanje Subcounty were trained.

The training focused on understanding young people, Sexual reproductive Health challenges faced by youth/HIV/AIDS prevention and management, understanding gender and Sexual Gender Based Violence, basic counseling skills, Youth Friendly Services and referral , Life skills and soft skills, entrepreneurship and goal setting, roles of Peer Educators and exposition to participatory methods.
